Social media has been buzzing with reactions following popular Nollywood actor, Bolanle Ninalowo’s recent announcement of his separation from his wife, Bunmi.

The actor took to his verified Instagram handle to share the news on Friday.

Netizens have taken to various social media platforms to express their thoughts and opinions on the matter.

Here’s a glimpse of what some had to say:

On Twitter, obajemujnr couldn’t help but express surprise, saying, “Every time I watched this couple on Instagram or TikTok, I would exclaim ‘God when?’ Now that they’ve shown us that not all that glitters is gold, my generation is left wondering, ‘What truly sustains a home?’”

Another Twitter user, Okey_Ego_Crypto, expressed disappointment, commenting, “It’s disheartening when actors, whom we often look up to, disappoint us. Does this mean we should throw our marriages out the window just because they’re facing issues?”

However, OwoseniSamuel took a more reflective approach, saying, “To God be the glory. Marriage isn’t for everyone; it requires commitment, perseverance, and the willingness to address mistakes. Not everyone is destined for marriage, but life is short, and one must live their destiny without compromise.”

On Instagram, ojb_declutter wrote, “After thinking they had one of the best marriages… I used to envy them.”

In contrast, iluyomadedawotola couldn’t believe the news, exclaiming, “This must be the biggest lie of the year! Why would this happen?”

On Facebook, Akatugba Akpos emphasized that separation is not the same as divorce, stating, “Going separate ways is not a big deal. What matters most is that they aren’t divorced; they’ve chosen a different path.”

Uduak Godswill Akpan offered a prayer for singles, saying, “May God guide all singles to make the right choices in marriage and help them recognize red flags before it’s too late.”

Ninalowo and Bunmi got married in a modest court ceremony in the United States in 2007.

They went through a separation in 2016 but reconciled in 2018. In November 2022, the actor admitted to infidelity and shared that they had worked on their marriage to prevent a complete breakdown.

Bunmi has, however, been silent on the recent announcement.
