...Set To Boost Technical/Vocational Education
The administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke has reiterated its commitment to revive the Skill G programme among the Technical and Vocational colleges across the State.
This is in a bid to strengthen vocational education among students who attend Technical Colleges for the creation of jobs among youths.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Arch. Dr. Dapo Ademola-Adesina dropped the hint during an interactive session with the nine principals of the Technical and Vocational colleges across the state.
He charged the principals to work together to ensure that students embrace Technical and Vocational studies like every other academic pursuit.
Explaining that Osun has the high number of technical colleges with good facilities, the SA stressed on the need for a reorientation among parents and students not to see technical colleges as schools for dullards.
A resource person on Technical and Vocational Education, Mr Laolu Oguntuyi while speaking harped on the need for technical and vocational centers in Osun State to go digital because the world is now digitally driven.
Mr Oguntuyi who called for constant training of teachers and students for development, advocated for the creation of young entrepreneurs clubs in schools, explaining that it will stimulate their interest in vocational studies at a young age.
