Tuition Fee: Ondo Govt Denies Crisis Between Akeredolu And NANS
By Niyi Olutunde, Akure
Fresh facts has emerged on what really transpired between the governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the President of the National Association of Nigeria Students, Comrade Bamidele Akpan few days ago.
Comrade Akpan had on Tuesday told journalists that governor Akeredolu walked out the students leaders with his security men and teargassed them out of the premises.
But while addressing a press conference on Thursday, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on students affairs, Mr. Banji Adewumi revealed that the students delegation were well received by the governor contrary to the claimed of Comrade Akpan.
According to him, Akpan earlier had private audience with the governor before requesting that the governor allow his other executive members to join the meeting.
Adewumi further disclosed that rather than detailing students demands he was busy challenging the governor on how he could receive gifts from him.
Akpan, he said also challenged the governor to emulate other governors who had at one time on the other showered him with gifts even after assisting him during his electioneering campaign to emerge the National President.
Adewumi however implored the good people of Ondo state to ignored the report of Akpan but rather repose their confidence in the governor.
It could be recalled that shortly after Akpan addressed the press that the President of the Ondo state students Comrade Olanrewaju Akeredolu came out to debunked Akpan claims.
