Osun: Alowonle’s Associate Reportedly Arrested Over Murder Of Ajagungbade Emir

The Osun State Police Command has reportedly arrested one Waliyi Adejare, popularly known as Jay Jay, over the death of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Adejare is one of the primary suspects in the murder of the late Oyeyemi.

According to OSUN DEFENDER, Adejare was arrested at the Oke Baale area of Osogbo on Thursday.

Sources said Adejare is an ally of the factional chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in the state, Nurudeen Alowonle.

Recall that an ally of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Olalekan Oyeyemi, was shot dead at Mayfair garage by suspected hoodlums over the tussle for leadership of the NURTW in the state.

Following the incident, Governor Ademola Adeleke announced the proscription of NURTW in the state.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest all those involved in the killing and bring them to book.

“Law and order must be maintained. There will be no sacred cows as all culprits will be brought to book,” Adeleke said.

The governor also ordered the immediate vacation of all motor parks by warring factions and directed security agencies to restore normalcy and ensure law and order across parks in the state.

As part of measures to prevent further violence, Adeleke announced the reintroduction of a Park Management System across the state. He said an Executive Order would soon be issued to give legal backing to the new system.

“We call on members of the public to remain calm. We will ensure restoration of peace in all the affected parks and areas. The security agencies are under instruction to ensure the sustainability of peace at all costs,” the governor added.
