Aregbesola Mourns Nathaniel Ambimbola’s Death, NUJ Declares 7 Days Mourning

Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Saturday expressed sadness over the death of the correspondent of the Osun State Broadcasting Service at the House of Assembly Mr. Nathaniel Abimbola.

Aregbesola, in a condolence message signed by the Director Bureau of Communication and Strategy Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, on Saturday said the death of Abimbola was sudden, just as it has robbed the state-owned media organization one of its most dependable hands.

He said: “This is sudden and tragic. He has shown himself as a reliable hand in the business of dissemination of information.

“His life was short but was eventful. He has demonstrated capacity for professional excellence but he has come to the end of his journey

“We console ourselves with the reality that death is a necessary end that must come when it is our time.”

The statement urged the entire OSBC family to take this sad loss with equanimity.

Meanwhile, the Osun state council of NUJ has declared a seven day mourning period in respect of the death of Nathaniel Abimbola.

This was contained in a statement released by  leadership of the Union while commiserating with friends, family and colleagues of the deceased.

The statement signed by the chairman of NUJ Abiodun Olalere described late Nathaniel as a man loved by all through his penchant for peace and hardworking nature.

The Union therefore declares a seven day mourning period and suspension of union activities at state secretariat and all chapel formations for seven days in utmost respect to the departed soul.

Nathaniel Abimbola died in a ghastly auto crash on March 24, 2017. His death stills a rude shock to fellow journalists in Osun.
