Again, Osun Lawyers Boycott Court Over Increment in Suit Filing Fees
Lawyers in Osun State have again boycotted court over the increment in the suit filing fees by the state government.
At the Osun State High Court, Osogbo today, lawyers failed to participate in the judicial activities, a development that partially paralyzed the courts’ activities.
The lawyer accused the state government of not complying with a ruling of the Federal High Court which directed it not to implement the increased suit filing fee and that the status quo must remain on the old regime of the fees.
A source at the High court said the state government has not issued any circular to officially reverse the increment in line with the court ruling.
The lawyers are demanding for circular from the state government to state the reversal of the suit filing fees, maintaining that they would continue to boycott court until the government issues the circular
