Man, 25, Docked for Allegedly Damaging Chairs

Osun State Police Command on Tuesday, dragged a 25-year-old man, Kazeem Adeolu before an Osogbo Magistrate court for allegedly damaging some plastic chairs worth 120, 000.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that Kazeem destroyed the chairs which belong to belonging to one Idayat Opeleye, sometimes in 2012 in Osogbo.
Abiodun stated that the alleged offence contravened Section 440 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume II Laws of Osun Sate Nigeria 2003.
The accused person however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Defence Counsel, Mr Nurudeen Sanusi, applied for the bail of the accused in the most liberal terms.
Sanusi maintained that the accused person was still presumed innocent until contrary is proved by a court of law.
He assured that court that the suspect would not jump the bail if granted, adding that a reliable surety was ready to stand for him.
In his ruling,Magistrate Olusola Aluko granted bail to the accused person in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties.
Aluko ordered that the address of the sureties to be verified by the policy in charge of the case and they must be residing within the court’s jurisdiction.
He, thereafter, adjourned the case till March 6, 2017 for mention.
