Osun Press Week: PDP Chieftain, Asler Urges Media To Balance Reports As Gov Election Draws Nearer

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Osun State, Engr David Ayodele Asalu, has stressed the need for journalists to avoid biased reportage as Governorship election draws nearer.
Asalu popularly called Asler, gave the advice in Osogbo, on Wednesday while addressing members of Nigeria Union of Journalists after the Health Walk as part of the activities to mark this year Press Week.
Represented by his manager, Hon Aderinola Debo, Asalu advised journalists to carry out their jobs according to the ethics of the profession.

He urged the media to ensure they play their constitutional role conscientiously.
“Journalists could be referred to as bridge builders between the masses and the Government because of the essential roles they play in nation building.
“As the Governorship election is approaching I want to urge the members of NUJ to be objective in their reportage
“They should maintain high level of professionalism while covering political Activities in the state. You are the mirror of society , always say it they way you see it.”
Speaking on the Important of physical exercise, the Politician cum philanthropist charged Journalists on regular exercise.
Appreciating the Asalu for his kind gesture, the NUJ Chairman Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu said he was highly impressed with the immense contribution of the PDP Chieftain toward the success of the health Walk.
