Baptist Convention Begins as Youth Night Holds at BICC

The Nigerian Baptist Convention will tomorrow, Saturday, begin its 108th Convention-in-Session. The 2021 Convention will hold at the newly built Baptist International Conference Centre, BICC, located at Kilometre 54, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lufuwape, Ogun State, about five minutes drive from the popular Redemption Camp.

The programme which will hold between Saturday, April 24 and Thursday 29th has its theme as “Moving Forward: Finishing the Race with Joy” (Acts 20:24). This years event will witness ministrations from Ministers across the globe among whom is the General Secretary, Baptist World Alliance, Elijah Brown, President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev Dr Ernest Adu Gyanfi, and National President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale Oke.

Others are the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev Dr Samson Supo Ayokunle, Chairman, NBC, Rev Dr Michael Abodunrin and other anointed Ministers of God.

The Convention-in-Session this year will start with the dedication of the new auditorium and followed by the opening session. Other major highlights includes appreciation service for the outgoing President and swearing-in of the President-elect, Rev Dr Israel Akanji.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC, will tomorrow, Saturday holds its Youth Night 2021 with the theme “Faithfulness in Running the Race with Joy” (Acts 20:24, Matthew 25:14-30).

While speaking with our reporter, the National President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC, Pastor Onajite Enunuaye urged youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention in particular and youths across the globe to attend the programme physically and where it is not possible, he admonished that they should watch it on the New Frontiers Television or YouTube and can equally join the programme virtually through various platforms that have been created for that purpose.

He added that the “Youth Night this year is special. It is because we are holding it at the newly built Baptist International Conference Centre and we will be privileged to have the outgoing Nigerian Baptist Convention President, Rev Dr Supo Ayokunle and the Guest Minister, Pastor, Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Rev Dr Israel Kristilere ministering.”

Other ministers of God to minister at the programme is the Director, Youths and Students Ministry, NBC, Rev Dr S.A.K Olaleye, National Coordinator, Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, Rev J.S Ibukunoluwa and the NBCYC President. Other Guest Ministers expected at the programme are Minister Oluoga Olanshile, Onibudo and Ayo Ajiboye.
