Osun Deputy Chief Whip, Ogunkanmi Congratulates Muslims As Ramadan Begins Today
The Deputy Chief Whip of Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi, has congratulated Muslim faithful in the state on the commencement of 2021 Ramadan fasting.
Ogunkanmi in a message sent to the Muslim of his Ayedire State Constituency and Osun at large urged Muslims and other citizens to use the fasting period to pray for the progress of Osun and entire country as a whole.
He also enjoined the Muslim faithful to remember the country in their prayer, saying they should use the efficacy of prayer in the holy month of Ramadan to for peace to reign in all the troubled areas in the country.
He asked Muslims to maintain peaceful coexistence among themselves just as he charged them to be patient while dealing with one another.
He prayed to Allah to accept Muslims’ sacrifices and increase the unity, solidarity, peace and prosperity of Osun.
He urged them to use the period for sober reflection, self-discipline and sacrifice.
According to him,”As we start this year Ramadan, I pray that Allah will not deny us all the benefits of the month. May He grant us more than our request during the month and thereafter. Ameen. Ramadan Mubarak
” let me use this opportunity to appeal to all the Muslims across the state of our country, to remember our dear State and country in our prayers as we seek to overcome the challenges we are facing as a nation.
“I enjoin us to stress the importance of peace, love, generosity and unity in our teachings during this sacred period,” he said.
“Since we do not have another country, we should always seek divine intervention for our nation and the Ramadan season provides such a unique opportunity to collectively seek the face of Allah through prayer.”
He encouraged Muslims to “concentrate their spirit, soul and body in total submission to Allah this month and fervently pray for Nigeria”.
