Osun Lawmaker, Kofoworola Scaled-up Education Interventions, Distributes Uniforms To Students In Ede
Pupils in public schools in Ede North State Constituency were thrown in an ecstatic mood as they received free school uniforms from Honourable Kofoworola Adewunmi Babajide.
Hon. Kofoworola, who is the lawmaker representing the constituency, visited schools in the area and handed uniforms to pupils to ensure that they appear in their newly approved wears.
It will be recalled that Governor Gboyega Oyetola recently reversed single uniform policy introduced by his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and asked schools to adopt varying uniforms for their pupils.
The intervention of Hon. Kofoworola sparked wild jubilation among students, who hailed the distribution of uniforms as timely and would ease the pressure that buying a new uniform had impressed on their parents and guardians.
Students received their uniforms with excitement and right at the venue, tested them on themselves to be sure they were given perfect sizes.
“Seeing how receptive students are to this intervention gives me a lot of joy as a representative,” Hon. Kofoworola said, adding that “I considered what many families are going through at this time and distributing uniforms to pupils is a way to support them and make sure no one is out of classrooms because they can’t afford approved clothing.”
“I understand how education is crucial to the future of our constituency and I will be giving necessary supports as my capacity and resources allow, seeing to it that future leaders are given the needed help to thrive.
“It is a privilege to be able to make impact, and seeing the smiles on the faces of pupils for the uniforms given to them goes a long way to show it is well accepted, which is great. Now, students will have no reason to be out of schools or distracted by pressures to get uniforms.”
Appreciating the Lawmaker, Mr Adesanya Jonh Akinniyi, Principal, Agbale Grammar school said the that minority leader is the first Politician who distributed free School Uniforms to the student since the reversal of education system in the state.
Akinniyi enjoined others political office holders to emulate the good gesture of the Lawmaker.
Seemingly elated at the gesture of Hon. Kofoworola, Ajao Aisha, and Adekunle Funmialyo, SS 2 Students who spoke on behalf of other students took turns to shower praises on the lawmaker for the uniforms, noting that he has removed an impediment to their studies and will now be able to concentrate on achieving excellence.
Among other schools benefited from the kind gesture are Agbale Grammar School, Ede, C.A.C Grammar School, Ede
Mapo Arogun Comprehensive High School, Ede, Ede Muslim Grammar School, Ede and Owode-Adejuwon Grammar School, Ede.
