Ondo Guber: Political Parties To Choose A Credible Governorship Candidate

Ahead of the October 10, governorship election in Ondo state, no fewer than 36 political parties have said it would join hands together to look for a credible candidate among the two major political parties in the forthcoming election.
The group under the auspices of Coalition 2020 Platform, the chairman of the group, Hon Bamiduro Dada and the coordinating Secretary of the Coalition Hon. Akin Akinbobola disclosed that the group together with the 36 political parties have started strategizing to look for a credible governorship candidate out of the two major political parties in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People Democratic Party (PDP).
The chairman stated this on Sunday during a meeting with two interest groups, the Ekiti descendants Union in Ondo and Benue indigenes residing in Ondo.
According to him, the group has not endorse or adopt any governorship candidate out of two major political parties in the state but are closely monitoring political events as they are unfolding in the state .
Hon Bamiduro Dada, who is a former commissioner in the States, said it is high time that all interest groups in Ondo state come together as one body to put a stop to bad governance in the sunshine state.
He explained further apart from the 36 political parties that are involved, the coalition also comprises all various interest groups like Muslim Society, NURTW, Artisans Students, Ebira Hausa, Ekiti, non-Indigenes Alliance movements in Ondo just to mention a few as members of the Coalition 2020.
He urged the two groups to go back to their followers and start educating them about the importance of having a good government in the state in the next governorship election.
Dada, however, assured all the various groups in the Coalition 2020 that at the appointed time that a particular candidate has been adopted by the group, each group will have direct access to such candidate to talk one on one.
