By Our Reporter
The President, Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC, Pastor Enunuaye Onajite has eulogised mothers especially, mothers of the Baptist extraction on the occasion of the celebration of the Mother’s Day describing them as virtuous mother’s.
In a statement personally signed by him on Sunday, Onajite said the mothers deserve to be celebrated every day and not just on Mother’s Day because their contributions to the spiritual and physical growth of the body of Christ through the families are unquantifiable.
He said “On behalf of the entire youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, I celebrate our mother’s on the occasion of the 2020 Mother’s Day celebration.
“We celebrate you every day and occasion like this is simply to further show you how much we treasure you. This celebration reminds us that you are not just mothers of our children rather, virtuous wives, role model and managers of our homes.
Onajite said that this year’s theme, “A Mother with an Eagle Eye” was very apt because it reflects the nature of our mothers who are naturally gifted with the eyes of the eagles. Our mothers are naturally gifted with the accurate, sharp, and inner eyes to see the future and plan for it.
“This quality has made them to be the salt of the world. Even in this era of the pandemic Coronavirus Disease, the eagle eyes of our mothers’ have helped to keep the families and homes together. They have long ago projected into what is happening today and no wonder they are not as hit as others by the pandemic.”
The youth leader emphasized that the world would have been meaningless without the love, sacrifice and commitment of the mothers towards a better family of God and humanity generally. He stated that no one can repay the mother’s for their sacrifice of love.
Onajite wished all mother’s a very Happy Mother’s Day while praying that God in His infinite mercy blesses all mothers across the globe.
