Delta Christian Youths Congratulates Okowa on His Emergence as South-South Governors Forum Chairman

The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Delta State Chapter has congratulated His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on his emergence as the Chairman of the South-South Governors Forum.

The position the group described as a “well deserved victory and divine emergence” noted that its a testimony to the good work that the governor is doing in the state.

In a statement issued today, Wednesday, and signed by its Chairman, Pastor Evwro Jeffery Ogheneovo, noted that the position calls for more responsibility.

“The new responsibility is only one of the ways of telling you thank you for your good work and highly esteemed leadership prowls. It is also another way of saying we want more of Okowa in the South-South in times like this.”

The youths called on Okowa to immediately commence the process of forming a security outfit that would protect the region just as done by their counterpart in the South-West with the inauguration of the South-West Security Network popularly known as Amotekun.

The stament reads:
“We call on the South-South governors to deemed it necessary and immediately commence the setting up of a South-South security outfit in line with the development in the other geopolitical zones in the country.

“In view of the foregoing, Delta State CAN youths humbly appeal to all governors and all stakeholders in the South-South to cooperate and support the efforts of His Excellency, governor Okowa in achieving this feat.

“The establishment of such security outfit will help to restore peace in the South-South and combat the menace of Fulani and Farmers perennial clashes in the region, most especially, the situation at uhweru and patani area of Delta state.” He concluded.
