LAUTECH: Alumni President Calls for Synergy between Oyo, Osun Govt

The National President Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Alumni Association, Mr Babatunde Breaks has call for synergy between Oyo and Osun state government is settling the challenges facing the institution.

Bewaji made the call while featuring on Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ibadan Television Program tagged AM 120 on the controversies surrounding the joint ownership of LAUTECH.

He stated that both Oyo and Osun state governments are currently unable to pay workers salary which has constituted to one of the problems confronting the institution.

Bewaji who is one of the members of LAUTECH Governing Council, described the call for the sole ownership of the university by the Oyo state House of Assembly as unnecessary and insignificant at the present time.

According to him, the most important thing is how to settle backlog of salaries owned the workers.

He explained that the Oyo assembly should have consulted the state Attorney General of state before embarking on the motion for the full ownership of the institution.

Bewaji disclosed that for the past two years, both Oyo and Osun states have not released any amount for capital projects for the university; thereby that has slowed the pace of development in the LAUTECH.

He stated that the problem facing the institution required short term solution for the overall interest of the students.

According to Bewaji, Osun state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and its Oyo counterpart, Senator Abiola Ajimobi needed to intensify more effort at settle the outstanding salaries of workers.

Bewaji expressed his optimism that the challenges facing the institution would soon be over through amicable resolutions.
