Panic As Gunmen Shot POS Operator In Ondo

Residents of Oke Ogba community along Agagu road in Akure, Ondo state capital, were on Wednesday evening thrown into mourning as shop owners ran for safety when a fellow shop attendant, POS operator (name withheld) was shot at a close range by unknown gunmen.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the saddening incident has since thrown the people of the area into a serious confusion and panic.
An eyewitness revealed that the gunmen who were on a motorcycle collected an undisclosed cash from the lady before shooting her.
The eyewitness who prefers anonymity said the robbery is becoming rampant in the area, as he called on the Nigeria police, vigilante groups to redouble their efforts in combing the area.
Another shop owner who confirmed that the young lady has been rushed to the hospital in the pool of blood said the people are now living in fear, stressing that the robbery has affected commercial activities and movement of persons in the entire community.
When contacted the Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph confirmed the incident saying that the command is working towards arresting the gunmen.
