2019: ‘Babayemi Will Win Osun West Senatorial Election’
Ahead of 2019 polls, electorate in the 110 wards in the West Senatorial District of Osun West have stated their resolve to vote the candidate of the Action Democratic party (ADP), Omooba Dotun Babayemi.
On the Gbongan-born prince, major power-brokers and political groups across Osun West Senatorial District, have passed a vote of confidence and with high hopes, they eagerly await the February date for the Senatorial poll to validate already handed mandate to Babayemi through ballot.
People of the West Senatorial declared their total support for Omooba Babayemi during festive season visit to all the wards to celebrate Christmas and New Year with the people.
The journey to the 110 wards started with Iwo, OlaOluwa and Ayedire local government where the Gbongan prince, just like his practice over the years during festive periods like Eid il Kabir,Eid il Fitri,Christmas and New year, presented people with food items and souvenirs .
The visit also created an avenue to consult with the generality of the populace which has been his usual practice from time to time.
Accompanied by party faithfuls,party leaders and other candidates for various political posts under the banner of ADP, Omooba Babayemi at every ward visited, explained that the essence of democracy is for all to benefit.
He expressed his readiness to adequately represent the people of Osun West at the red chambers of the National Assembly if supported to win the next February election.
Appreciating the people for supporting Alhaji Moshood Adeoti,the ADP gubernatorial candidate in the last governorship election,Omooba Babayemi appealed to them to extend such support to him in the forthcoming election, assuring them of projects and programmes that will be beneficial to all.
Touched by his previous antecedents in the areas of provision of free health services, free summer coaching,scholarship for indigent students up to University level and provision of empowerment fund to women, members of the Social Democratic party (SDP) in Iwo signified intention to support Omooba Babayemi’s aspiration to the senate.
According to them, the Gbongan prince has shown his people that if voted to power he will not only share democracy dividends equally,but also make himself accessible to all.
At Ogbaagba in Ola Oluwa local government area of Osun state, members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, endorsed the candidature of Omooba Dotun Babayemi and pledged to support his move to the senate.
According to members of the African Democratic Congress Omooba Babayemi has demonstrated sterling leadership qualities even before contesting political position, hence their belief that if entrusted with power,he will not deprive them of democracy dividends.
Omooba Babayemi also met the people of Ejigbo,Egbedore, Ede North and Ede South local government to share the joy of the season with them.There he was widely accepted by the people who described him as a politician of repute who is concerned with the well being of his people.
They pledged their resolve to ensure his victory at the poll come next February .
At Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan local government,the tumultuous crowd that welcomed Omooba Babayemi and his team maintained that the time is ripe to pay Omooba Dotun Babayemi back on the numerous humanitarian services
which he has been carrying out for his people over the years without holding any political post and without government intervention.
Speaking at all the 110 wards visited, Omooba Babayemi appealed to the people not to sell their future and that of their children for stipends in the forthcoming election.
Assuring them of maximum representation if voted, Babayemi also explained that his intention to liberate the people of Osun West District from marginalisation and bring democracy dividends to their doorsteps led to his decision to contest the senatorial seat.
