Just In: Boko Haram Kills Second Health Worker, Vows To Keep Leah Sharibu For Life
Hauwa Leman, an aide worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross has been reportedly killed by the Boko Haram terrorist group.
She was killed after the expiration of the deadline given to the Federal Government by the terrorist group.
The terrorist group said it would never release Leah Sharibu, who was one of the students abducted from a Dapchi school in February.
It was learnt that the second health worker was killed a while ago, according to TheCable.
The terrorist group said it intended to keep Leah Sharibu for life.
Leah Sharibu is the Christian students that refused to be forced to accept Islam.
Sharibu is still in the terrorists’ custody, according to a press statement.
The statement read in part: “We have kept our word exactly as we said, by killing another humanitarian worker, Hauwa Leman, who is working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) that were abducted during a raid on a military facility in Rann, Kala Balge in March 2018.
“Saifura and Hauwa were killed because they are considered as Murtads (apostates) by the group because they were once Muslims that have abandoned their Islam, the moment they chose to work with the Red Cross, and for us, there is no difference between Red Cross and UNICEF.
“If we see them, we will kill the apostates among them, men or women, and chose to kill or keep the infidels as slaves, men or women.
“From today, Sharibu, 15, and Ngaddah, a mother of two, are now our slaves.
“Based on our doctrines, it is now lawful for us to do whatever we want to do with them.”
It will be recalled that Leman was abducted in March by a faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West African Province, along with two other health workers, Saifura Khorsa, who was killed on September 16 and Alice Loksha, a nurse working for the United Nations Children and Education Fund.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday condemned the killing of Miss Saifura Hussaini Khorsa, an aide worker, by the Boko Haram terrorists.
Khorsa, who worked for the Red Cross, was kidnapped about six months ago at the Rann camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno by Boko Haram terrorists.
The President in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, in Abuja described the killing of the aid worker as heinous and despicable.
According to the President, “The government of Nigeria strongly condemns this reprehensible and inhuman act. No religion permits the killing of the innocent.
“Saifura worked for the Red Cross, a humanitarian organisation tirelessly working to bring succour to all the victims of violence irrespective of the sides of the conflict.
“The President, therefore, appealed to Nigeria’s international partners and everyone with an influence on the terrorists to prevail on them “to stop these acts of extreme barbarism.”
Buhari further assured that his administration would seize “every given opportunity, with both hands and to use all means available to bring home all citizens being held against their will by the Boko Haram terrorists.
“The President, on behalf of his family, the government and people of Nigeria extends condolences to the family of Saifura, the Red Cross and UNICEF over the loss of the “selfless and hardworking mother.”
