2018 Hajj: Osun Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Begins Enlightenment, Training Programmes For Intending Pilgrims
Osun state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded arrangements to ensure hitch free exercise for the intending pilgrims for year 2018 Hajj as the agency commenced enlightenment programms to sentisized the intending pilgrims.
Administrative Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sikiru Adetona Alao stated this while speaking about the agency prepartion towards 2018 Hajj.
Alao stressed that the enlightenment and training had commenced last Saturday and will last for 4 weeks on Saturdays and Sundays between 9am and 1pm for four weeks at the Board premises.
He added that payment of Hajj fear is still ongoing every working day at the Board ‘s office and may close in a week time.
According to him, the aim of doing the training is to ensure all intending pilgrims from the State are fully enlightened and educated on hajj rites and other issues of dos and don’t at the Holy land.
He further said that the State Government attached much importance to the enlightenment of the pilgrims towards a successful hajj Operation and would not condone absenteeism by the intending pilgrims.
Adetona who decried the low turn out of the intending pilgrims this year said, the agency have not be able to meet up with the slots allocated to the state, saying only 500 intending pilgrims have been registerd by the agency while the slots of over 900 were been allocated for the state.
He then advised all registered intending pilgrims in the State with the board to be punctual at the training exercise which is commencing this Saturday and also urged some of them that are yet to submit their international passport and national identity number to come along with it in order to complain process of registration.
Alao however used the medium to appeal to those who still have intention of partaking in this year hajj through the board to as a matter of time hurried up and do the needful as the hajj commission may close the potal next week.
