Parents Urged To Teach Children Moral Values

Parents have been charged on the need to always instill in their children the good moral values so as to be useful to the family and society at large.

The President and Founder, Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife in Osun State, Dr Ramon Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin who gave the charge also warned parents to be mindful of how they bring up their children because they would give account when they finally meet God.

He gave the advice  in Ile-Ife on Thursday, while answering questions from Journalists shortly after the twelve years remembrance prayer of his late mother, Alhaja Bintu Adedoyin.

Adedoyin, who is the Maye of Ife Kingdom, noted that young men who engage in criminal activities like kidnapping, armed robbery and terrorism as well as women who engage in prostitution are partly affected by their growing up experience.

The business magnate, emphasized that her mother was one in a million who spent her life for service of God and humanity.

Adedoyin, who noted that his father died when he was seven years said his mother was responsible for his upbringing and education.

The President and founder of Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife, maintained that his mother prayer was source of his success and achievement in live, saying he would forever remain indebted to his mother for her commitment to the success of her children.

He submitted that the only way to reciprocate the sacrifice of his mother was to continue remembering and pray for her soul and memory.

In his sermon, a Cleric, Alhaji Nasiru Kazeem of Zawiyat Mosque, Sabo in Ile-Ife, called on children to always take care of their mother, noting that the sacrifice of mother could not be quantified hence the need for children to repay their mother with all goodies of life.

Alhaji Nasiru, said Allah was pleased with anybody that care for social wellbeing of their mother and show respect to them either alive or death.

The cleric who lauded Chief Adedoyin for remembering his mother through prayer said Allah would continue to bless him for his good gesture.

He maintained that the late Alhaja Bintu Adedoyin was a committed Muslim who spent her life for the service of God .

The twelve years remembrance prayer was graced by traditional rulers, Capitan of industries, academics and friends from far and near.
