NUJ Congratulates Olowu of Kuta On Elevation As Osun Obas Council Vice Chairman
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, has congratulated the Olowu of Kuta, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, CON, Tegbosun III, on his elevation to the position of Vice Chairman, Osun State Council of Obas.
The union, in a congratulatory statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin, and Secretary, Comrade Olalekan Akindoju, described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of the monarch’s exemplary leadership, wisdom and commitment to peace and development.
The NUJ said Oba Oyelude had distinguished himself as a traditional ruler who consistently promoted unity, peaceful coexistence and community development, noting that his contributions had extended beyond Kuta to the broader development of Osun State.
According to the council, the monarch’s wealth of experience, leadership capacity and understanding of contemporary issues would bring significant value to the Osun State Council of Obas.
The union also acknowledged the Olowu’s longstanding support for journalism and his cordial relationship with journalists and media organisations across the state.
It said his elevation should be viewed not only as a personal honour but also as recognition of his contributions to strengthening the traditional institution and fostering peaceful coexistence among the people.
The NUJ Osun State Council expressed confidence that Oba Oyelude would bring his wisdom, courage and leadership qualities to bear on his new responsibility.
The union noted that the role was particularly important at a time when traditional institutions remained crucial to peace-building, community development, conflict resolution and social cohesion.
The council prayed for continued wisdom, good health and strength for the monarch as he assumes his new responsibility.
It also wished the Olowu of Kuta a successful and impactful tenure in office, while assuring him of the continued support and goodwill of the journalism community in Osun State.
