Tinubu Returns Tuesday, To Deliver Oct 1 Broadcast In Lagos

Barring any lastminute change of itinerary, President Bola Tinubu, will return to Lagos on Tuesday, September 29th.

A presidential source, who craved anonymity told Sunday Telegraph that the President would address the nation on October 1 to commemorate the nation’s Independence Day from Lagos.

The President left the country for a three-week vacation in Europe on August 30th, berthing first in London, United Kingdom. He moved to Paris, France to continue his working vacation after a week in London.

On September 21, at the expiration of the three week working vacation the Presidency in a statement said Tinubu would be extending his stay in France by one week with speculations that he would arrive Nigeria today (Sunday).

But a reliable source within the Presidency said he would be arriving Lagos on Tuesday. Tinubu’s decision to address Nigerians from Lagos on the October 1st Independence Day anniversary would be the second time since from 2025.

Recall that the President addressed the nation from Lagos in 2025 following the suspicion of a planned coup attempt by some military officials to topple his government. The source said the President would be returning to Abuja by next weekend after the broadcast.
