A mild drama ensued at the National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Abuja on Tuesday as a former deputy governor of Osun State, Iyiola Omisore and a former commissioner, Bayo Faforiji were sent out of the meeting.
Sources at the meeting revealed to CityMirrorNews that the duo were ordered out of the Wadata plaza secretariat of the party after their place in the meeting was questioned.
Findings by newsmen at the PDP secretariat indicated that the two stalwarts of the party had attended Yesterday’s expanded national caucus of the party with the Ahmed Markarfi Led caretaker committee notion when the PDP crisis lasted.
According to information, the duo had lobbied the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose to make his group the recognized leadership of the PDP in Osun State.
At the accreditation stage, both Omisore and Faforiji were admitted as part of the South West arm of the party but were questioned immediately after the meeting started on their status to attend the NEC of the party.
One of the party members who raised the observation during the meeting explained the duo did not meet the criteria of members of the party who can attend the meeting of such decision making organ of the party.
After due deliberations, both Omisore and Faforiji were embarrassed out of the room and Hon Soji Adagunodo who had hitherto been addressed as the authentic PDP chairman in Osun State alongside his B.O.T members of the State party leadership were allowed into the meeting.
As at the time of filing in this report, only Adagunodo and his men were allowed to the meeting in line with the constitution of the party in admitting only former presidents, governors, chairmen of the party at the state levels and other recognised stakeholders of NEC.
And in the instance, neither Omisore nor Faforiji is a sitting or former governor or chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
