Alfa Sule Accuses Woli Agba Of Taking Over Late Father’s Church

A fresh controversy has erupted between popular Christian comedians and brothers, Femi Ajewole, popularly known as Alfa Sule, and Ayo Ajewole, better known as Woli Agba, following allegations that the latter took over their late father’s church and changed its name.

Speaking during an interview on The Ajibola Akinyefa Podcast, Alfa Sule claimed that Woli Agba had transformed the ministry founded by their late father into his personal church, removing traces of the founder’s legacy in the process.

According to Alfa Sule, the church belonged to their late father, and while he played a leadership role after his father’s death, he deliberately avoided presenting it as his personal ministry.

“I never called it my church,” he said, explaining that he only mounted the altar when it was time to preach.

The evangelist alleged that he recently discovered through a family member and a lawyer that the church had been renamed before confirming the changes during a visit.

“I discovered that they have taken over. They have changed the name of the church. Recently, I realised that it is now his church,” he said.

Alfa Sule insisted that the ministry should continue to preserve the vision and legacy of their late father.

“Daddy’s church remains Daddy’s church. We were only continuing what he founded there,” he said.

He further alleged that references to their father had been removed from the ministry.

“They have changed the name. Anything that has to do with Daddy is not really pronounced again in that church.

“I still hold on to the vision God gave my father. But when I went there, I saw that there is nothing you can trace to my father in that church again,” he added.

Despite his allegations, Alfa Sule said he had no intention of engaging in a public dispute with his younger brother over the church.

“I’m not ready to fight over it. I know it is Daddy’s vision, and I also have my own vision,” he said.

The latest claims have reignited public interest in the brothers’ relationship, years after Woli Agba revealed that he left the Christ Chosen Vessels Dance Drama Ministry following instructions from his elder brother.

In a 2022 interview, Woli Agba said he did not voluntarily leave the ministry but was asked to do so by Alfa Sule after about 15 years of working together.

He maintained that he had no intention of leaving his brother, describing the separation as painful but ultimately part of God’s purpose for his life.
