NNPP Leadership Crisis Deepens In Osun As Ex-State Chairman’s Exit Triggers Wave Of Resignations
The crisis rocking the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Osun State appears to have deepened following the resignation of its State Chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, with several key party officials also announcing their departure.
Odeyemi, who led the affairs of the party in Osun State for six years, resigned from the NNPP on Friday, July 17, 2026, citing the protracted leadership crisis affecting the party at the national level.
His resignation has since been followed by a series of exits by party leaders believed to be his loyalists, raising concerns over the future of the party’s structure in the state.
Among those who have resigned are the Deputy National Women Leader, Hon. Solape Olatunbosun, who announced that she was no longer a member of the NNPP, and the South-West Zonal Secretary, Hon. Olalekan Fabayo, who said his decision was taken after careful consideration and reflection on his political journey.
Others who have also tendered their resignation letters include the Deputy State Secretary, Adegbaju Celestinah; the State Welfare Secretary, Akinfala IfeOluwa; the Ife/Ijesa Senatorial Chairman, Prophet Peter O. Blessed; and the State Deputy Women Leader, Mrs. Oladosu.
The affected officials reportedly submitted their resignation letters to their respective ward chairmen.
The latest development is expected to further weaken the NNPP’s structure in Osun State, where the party has continued to grapple with the effects of the lingering internal crisis at the national level.
