Osun APC Primaries : CCDCE Decries Allegs Imposition Of Candidate For Ifelodun Federal Constituency

-Calls For President Tinubu, APC National Leadership’s Intervention

The Center for Community Development and Civic Enlightenment (CCDCE) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress and INEC to quickly intervene to save Nigeria from global embarrassment as the party attempts to impose a fraudster on the people of Osun State.

The allegation involves a plot to impose a candidate accused of submitting forged certificates during the party’s primary election in Boripe/Ifelodun/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency.

CCDCE gathered that the said aspirant, who despite the discovery of questionable credentials, including a forged WAEC O’Level certificate during the screening process, contested the recent APC primary into Nigeria’s Federal House of Representatives with other aspirants.

According to the Center, the documents were allegedly discovered during routine verification and later confirmed to be fraudulent after checks with issuing authorities.

However, despite the alleged findings, CEDCE claimed powerful political forces within the APC are pushing to forcefully install Oluwadamilare as the party’s flagbearer ahead of the general election.

The Executive Director of the CEDCE, Comrade Yinka Salaam therefore called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use his good office to intervene into the matter and call the stakeholders in Osun State to order, with a view to saving Nigeria from global embarrassment.

“What an embarrassment will it bring to the country if the court later discovers that a fraudster is elected into the Green Chamber. The hallowed chamber of Nigeria’s House of Representatives is a place for honourable citizens. We should therefore not repeat the past mistakes when certificate forgers were elected and later sacked by the court, after discovering the malpractices or irregularities.

“It is also imperative for the National Working Committee, the Primary Elections Committee of the APC all well as the stakeholders in Osun State to ensure such an ugly incident does not occur in this age. We are aware that APC have many honourable individuals, so why imposing a certificate forger or individual with questionable character on the good people of the Boripe/Ifelodun/Odo Otin Federal Constituency. This is nothing but a brazen affront on democracy and the integrity of the electoral system?”, he said.

Comrade Salaam similarly made an appeal to the electoral empire, INEC, which is charged with election monitoring to ensure the electoral integrity is not compromised
