Gov Adeleke Has fulfilled his campaign Promises- Aide

By Tosin Olasunkanmi, Osogbo

The Special Adviser on Special Duties to Osun State Governor, Akinwumi Odejobi, on Wednesday said the administration of Ademola Adeleke has fulfilled his campaign promises, particularly in the area of infrastructure development.

Odejobi made this known while speaking at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council’s public engagement programme, “Guest Platform” held at the NUJ Press Centre in Osogbo, where he featured as Special Guest.

Speaking on the theme, “Infrastructural Provision In Osun State Under the Ongoing Dispensation,” Odejobi highlighted what he described as key achievements of Governor Adeleke since he assumed office in 2022.

Responding to questions by the panelists, Odejobi said that Governor Adeleke assumed government when the roads in the state were bad which prompted his early decision to prioritise infrastructure, especially road construction, across the state.

He noted that within the administration’s first 100 days, significant progress has already been recorded, adding that numerous projects have been completed while others are ongoing.

According to him,”In his campaign he said he really wants to focus on road infrastructure and he has really done that right from his first 100 days in office. Most of the road has been completed.

“A lot of mega projects have been completed, this government fulfils all his campaign promises and we can all see for ourselves.

“Among the projects that are completed by this government are Oba Sir Adesoji Aderemi intersections 1 and 2, flyovers at Oke Fia and LAMECO in Osogbo, dualisation of Old Garage–Oke Fia road, Osogbo Steel Rolling axis, Alamisi Road, and the Ilesa Road Expressway at Rangers Square.

“Oke Ayepe, Curstain road,Okesa Community, Alhaji Olasupo Road in Ilesa,, Oromu, Araromi, Market Gate among others.” He added.

He further dismissed allegations that the administration concentrated the road infrastructure in Ede, the governor’s hometown, insisting that projects are spread across the state.

Odejobi added that Governor Adeleke infrastructural drive has made Osun more attractive to investors, stressing that investors are now interested in the state.

Representing the NUJ chairman, Babalola Wasiu in his opening remarks stated that the chairman, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin said that the maiden edition,is to searchlight into Infrastructure Provision in Osun State under the ongoing dispensation.

He said,”Infrastructure is the backbone of any society, Roads determine commerce. Hospitals save lives. Schools shape futures. Water, power, and housing define the dignity of our people. When infrastructure works, the state works. When it fails, the people suffer, regardless of political affiliation.

“This is why we have assembled a team of media technocrats and seasoned panelists to interrogate the subject matter.

“Without preempting the discussion, I must emphasize the ground rule of this platform: Let us be issue-based. This is not a court for political castigation. It is not a stage for praise-singing.It is a forum for facts, figures and constructive engagement,” He added.
