Oluga Congratulates APC National Chairman, Yilwatda, National Secretary, Basiru
The Federal Commissioner, representing the South West in the National Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Taiwo Oluga, has extended warm congratulations to the newly elected national officers of the All Progressives Party, APC following the just-concluded national convention, describing their emergence as a renewed call to service and unity within the ruling party.
In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, Hon Oluga particularly lauded the election of the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru PhD, noting that the latter, who hails from Osun State, is a source of pride to the people of the state and a testament to his longstanding commitment to progressive politics.
Oluga said the successful conduct of the convention reflects the internal democracy and organizational strength of the APC, expressing confidence that the new leadership would reposition the party for greater electoral victories and effective governance.
“I heartily congratulate the newly elected National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, and all other members of the National Working Committee on their well-deserved victory at the convention. Their emergence is not only a recognition of their dedication and loyalty to the party but also a reflection of the confidence reposed in them by party stakeholders across the country,” Oluga stated.
He added that the emergence of an Osun indigene in a key leadership position underscores the strategic importance of the state in national politics and the APC structure.
“As an indigene of Osun State, I am particularly delighted that our own son has been entrusted with such a critical responsibility. This development has further reinforced Osun’s place in the progressive family and national political landscape,” he said.
Hon Oluga who represented the people of Irewole, Ayedaade,Isokan Federal Constituency of Osun at the 9th Assembly of the House of Representatives urged the new leadership to prioritize unity, inclusiveness, and internal cohesion, stressing that the strength of the APC lies in its ability to accommodate diverse interests while pursuing a common vision.
“The task ahead is enormous, but I have no doubt that with experience, dedication, and a commitment to fairness, the new leadership will steer the party to greater heights. I urge them to carry every member along and deepen democratic ideals within the party,” he added.
He also called on party members across the country to rally behind the newly elected officers, emphasizing that collective support is essential for the party’s continued success.
“This is a time for all members to close ranks and support the new leadership. Together, we can consolidate on past achievements and build a stronger, more united APC that will continue to deliver good governance to Nigerians,” Oluga said.
The APC national convention, which drew party delegates and stakeholders from across the federation, culminated in the election of new national officers tasked with piloting the affairs of the party in the coming years.
