2027: Sokoto ADC Targets 2m New Members – Maigwandu
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sokoto State chapter has said it is targeting at least 2 million new members in its ongoing registration and validation exercise.
Saturday Telegraph reports that the party launched a nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise, both online and offline, to update its digital membership register in compliance with the Electoral Act 2026.
The exercise, which started in February 2026, aims to strengthen the party’s internal structures and expand its grassroots presence.
To register, individuals can visit the party’s official website and provide their National Identification Number (NIN).
Existing members must also revalidate their membership on the new digital portal.
Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu, Chairman of the party’s registration, mobilization, and validation exercise committee in the state, said the exercise is going smoothly and has recorded significant success.
“We’re hopeful that we’ll exceed our target of 2 million new members across Sokoto’s 23 Local Government Areas,” he said.
Maigwandu, a former Deputy Speaker in the Sokoto State House of Assembly, appealed to party members and citizens to register with the ADC, boasting that “almost all the people of the state are members of ADC.”
