By Christianah Oladosu,Osogbo
An unidentified man is now in the custody of the police in Ughelli, Delta State, for allegedly killing a driver working with Delta Line, the state transport service.
It was learnt that the deceased was conveying passengers from Asaba to Warri when he crashed into the suspect’s vehicle, a brand new Toyota Sienna, destroying the side mirror.
The driver reportedly zoomed off without waiting to show remorse.
In anger, the suspect gave the driver a hot chase until he double crossed him opposite SG Jones in Ughelli town.
The Delta Line driver made another attempt to escape to an opposite lane but the suspect aggressively caught and dragged him out of the bus.
However, as both men were dragging each other, the driver collapsed. He was rushed to a hospital where a doctor confirmed him dead on arrival.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, is yet to comment on the incident.
