The leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Saki West/Saki East/Atisbo Local Government Areas of Oke Ogun, Hon. Mayegun Niyi Adekola, on Wednesday played host to the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and top leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a well-attended unity rally in Saki, Oyo State.
The event, held in the historic Old Ifedapo Federal Constituency, brought together APC stalwarts from across Oyo State, party faithful, grassroots supporters and fellow aspirants, all converging to reaffirm their commitment to party unity and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the APC-led federal government.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Adekola described the rally as a defining moment for the APC in Oke Ogun, and stressing that unity remains the party’s greatest strength ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This gathering is not just about politics; it is about purpose, unity and service to our people,” Adekola said. “Our Constituency deserves purposeful representation that understands the needs of the grassroots and is ready to work tirelessly to attract development, opportunities and dignity to our people.”
The House of Reps aspirant noted that his aspiration is anchored on competence, inclusiveness and a deep commitment to the welfare of constituents across Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo LGAs.
“I am offering myself to serve, not to be served,” he declared. “My vision is to be a bridge between our people and the dividends of democracy – quality education, accessible healthcare, youth empowerment, security and economic opportunities that will lift our communities.”
Adekola further commended the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for their role in mobilising support for the APC and promoting the ideals of good governance at the grassroots.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda must resonate in every ward and community,” he noted. “Together, we must ensure that hope is not just a slogan but a living reality in the lives of our people.”
The unity rally drew the presence of prominent APC leaders and stakeholders in Oyo State, including Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, Senator Sarafadeen Alli, former Deputy Governor Iyiola Oladokun, former Deputy Governor Alake Adeyemo, former Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan, Col. Gbenga Adegbola (rtd), Prof. Adeolu Akande, Chief Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan, and Hon. Tajudeen Kareem Abisodun, among others.
In their separate remarks, the party leaders urged members to close ranks, shun divisive tendencies and work collectively for the growth and electoral success of the APC in Oyo State, particularly in the Old Ifedapo Federal Constituency.
The colourful event featured solidarity songs, goodwill messages and renewed pledges of support for Hon. Adekola’s aspiration, as party faithful expressed confidence in his capacity to provide effective and people-oriented representation at the National Assembly.
The Saki rally is widely seen as a strong signal of growing momentum behind Mayegun Niyi Adekola’s House of Representatives bid and a reaffirmation of the APC’s resolve to consolidate its base in Oke Ogun ahead of the next general elections.
