Confusion As Israeli Man Dies In Abuja Hotel
A 73-year-old Israeli man named Avi Warshaviak has died after falling sick at a hotel in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
According to security expert Zagazola Makama, the incident happened on Saturday at Corinthia Villa Hotel in Garki, where Warshaviak was staying with his wife.
Sources said he suddenly became sick around 9:51 a.m. He was rushed to Asokoro General Hospital but was confirmed dead shortly after arriving.
The hotel’s Chief Security Officer, Okorie Emmanuel, reported the matter to Garki Divisional Police Headquarters at about 11:23 a.m.
Police officers visited both the hotel and the hospital. They recorded what happened and moved the body to the hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
Police sources said they are now trying to contact the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria for necessary consular arrangements.
