Armed Robbers Kill Civil Defence Corp to Death in Osun
Armed robbers on Monday killed one of the civil defence corps working at Ooni’s residence in parakin,Ile-ife.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the officer was shot infront of the house on his way to buy recharge card.
Informed sources disclosed that the deceased had earlier informed his colleague that he would soon be back from where he went to buy the card before he met his death.
The armed robbers were said to be coming from an operation when they sighted the NSCDC officer walking on the street.
The armed robbers reportedly shot the security agent severally and also short into the air sporadically to scare away people.
The sources further disclosed that the deceased was in his cold blood without help from no where.
Confirming the incident, the NSCDC spokesperson, Mr. Wale Folarin confirmed the story.
He said “the timely intervention of officers and men of the Civil Defence prevented the fracas from escalating.
“Hoodlums warned against jeopardizing existing peace and anybody caught will be severely dealt with. Those
on the run will be nabbed soon”.
“It is true one of our officers attached to the Ooni’s palace was shot dead by some unidentified persons in front of a private residence of the Ooni. (Infront of his private residence after bought the card)The killers went away with his gun”.
“He died at the teaching hospital Ife.”
“We have arrested three suspects in connection with the crime and investigations continue as the command will get to the root of the matter.;
Also,Ooni spokesperson, Moses Olafare said that, the officer was killed by gun men while trying to go and buy a recharge card.
“Those that killed him. Who could be likened to armed robbers went away after killing him, they killed him when sighted that there was a gun in his hand.”
