Road Construction: Osun Residents Groan Over Diversions

Residents of Osogbo, capital of Osun State, are groaning in pain as the contractor handling ongoing road construction in some parts of the city has blocked major roads.

The road between Alekuwodo and Oke-Fia was blocked to enable the construction of a flyover. Also, the LAMECO Roundabout was blocked for another flyover on the Ifon-Ilibu-Erin road.

Some of the residents, Dr Peter Elenile, Pastor Seyi Adebiyi and Comrade Waheed Saka, pleaded with Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure that the projects were completed without delay so as to bring the disrupted economic life back.

Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Malam Rasheed Olawale, said the governor was aware of the situation and pleaded with the residents to endure for a while.
