Late Alayemore Of Ido-Osun, Oba Adedapo Was A Good Man, Fantastic Adviser – Makinde
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Honourable Rotimi Makinde has commiserated with the people of Ido-Osun over the demise of their king, Alayemore of Ido-Osun kingdom, Oba (Dr) Aderemi Adedapo.
Oba Adedapo joined his ancestors on Saturday morning after a brief illness.
In a condolence message signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Monday, the former member House of Representative at the national assembly described the news of the passage of the monarch as shocking, saying Oba Adedapo died at a time when his wealth of experience was highly needed.
Describing the late monarch as a good man and fantastic adviser, Makinde said the good times he had with the monarch would continue to linger in his memory.
According to him, “the late would always want the best for whoever that comes his way”.
“Late Alayemore of Ido Osun was such a good Man. I never knew he was bidding us good bye when we journeyed together a few days before his death from Ugheli Delta State to Lagos after a marriage ceremony.
“He was full of life as he shared his experiences in life in the presence of his colleagues Onipokia of Ipokia, Elerimo of Erimo and Oranfe of Ile Ife.
“It’s on record that he served as secretary to the highest body of traditional set up in Nigeria and he was very close to the late Oba Okunade Sijuade of blessed memory, he was ever there for me as an adviser especially when I was the member and representative of the source of Yorubaland at the National Assembly.
“Baba was a fantastic adviser. I would honestly describe this very amiable gentle man as lover of peace, very resourceful and a great stabiliser within his peer group.
“It’s shocking to read about the transition of this very refined personality at time we needed his wealth of experience.
“The late monarch shall continue to live in my memory as someone who was very close to the throne of Oduduwa and someone who paid his due with uncommon legacies.
May his soul rest in peace.”
