I Feel Sad That Buhari Is Hounding My Family – Jonathan
Former President Goodluck Jonathan for the first time has publicly admitted that he is worried over the seeming victimisation his family is facing from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Since his exit from power on May 29, 2015, several members of Jonathan’s family including his wife, Dame Patience, as well as close associates have been hounded by the government.
The former president made the comment in a new book ‘Against The Run of Play’ written by Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi, chairman, ThisDay Editorial Board.
“I feel sad about the way my family is being hounded,” he said in the book.
He also claimed that several leaders in the former ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including the chairman at the time, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, carried out a hatchet job to force him from power.
He said the chairman collaborated with some forces ahead of the 2015 general election in order to get rid of him.
What happened was very sad not for me as a person, but for our democracy.
“Take, for instance, the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu. I believe he joined in the conspiracy against me. For reasons best known to him, he helped to sabotage the election in favour of the opposition.” (Adapted from PerSecondNews)
