Our 8-point Agenda Will Bring Unprecedented Development — FG
The Federal Government reiterated on Thursday in Akure that the eight-point agenda of President Bola Tinubu would bring unprecedented development to the nation.
Mr Abubakar Momoh, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, said this while on a courtesy visit to the palace of the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi.
CityMirrorNews reports that the minister was on a tour of facilities in the nine states of the Niger Delta region, comprising Cross River, River, Delta, Imo, Bayelsa, Abia, Edo, Akwa Ibom and Ondo States.
Momoh said that Tinubu’s administration was especially concerned about economic growth and job creation, access to capital and improving security of lives and properties in the entire country.
“I can assure you that the Tinubu-led administration is 100 percent committed to improving security, ensuring access to capital and massive infrastructural development.
“In line with this, we, at the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, will do our best to ensure the entire nine states in the Niger Delta region witness a massive development.
“We will bring an unprecedented change by ensuring that quality projects are delivered. If a two-kilometer road were to be constructed , we will make sure it is constructed to the very standard required of a road to last a long time. We will not construct any infrastructure that will give way within a short time
“We also have enough empowerment programmes to arrest youth restiveness in the region, and by the time we start to execute them, I am sure the youths would not have time to engage in any unreasonable thing,” he said.
The minister who commended the Akure traditional ruler for accepting to host him and his team in spite of the short notice given him, enjoined Oba Aladelusi to maintain “the peace and tranquility that is prevalent in the ancient town”.
Responding, the Deji of Akure commended the Federal Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the various development projects being carried out in Ondo State.
Oba Aladelusi said that he constantly strives to ensure peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic tribes residing in Akure because ” no meaningful development can take place where there is no peace and security of lives and properties”.
The traditional ruler who pledged his support for all programmes of the ministry and the NDDC in the state, enjoined people of the state, especially the coastal areas, to cooperate with them with a view to enjoying the dividends of democracy to the fullest.
