Osun 2018: Aregbesola Has No Anointed Candidate- Oriolowo

A governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun state, Engr. Adelere Oriolowo, has described as “rumour”, the allegation that Governor Rauf Aregbesola has anointed candidate for the party in the coming election.

Oriolowo, who is the Osun state project coordinator of Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP 11), defended the Governor at a “News Point” of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Osogbo, on Tuesday.

He said, “it is mere rumour. My principal, Aregbesola that I know is not anointing anybody and he has never said it anywhere.

Oriolowo who boasted that he has the best experience to lead the state, warned that “if competent person is not put in place, it is either the state go backward or remain stagnant.

He maintained that political experience is not enough to be Governor of a state, but technical expertise, project management, interpersonal relations and cognitive problem solving, are as well needed to succeed.

Commending Governor Aregbesola for laying good foundation by providing security environment, Oriolowo promised to further the developmental projects by bringing investors to the state.

He also boasted that his experience all over the world would count much, adding that zoning would also favour him.

He noted that the East Senatorial District has produced four governors and four deputies, and the Central has also produced three governors and three deputies.

“Apparently, West has not been Governor because Senator Isiaka Adeleke has not done two years before his government was truncated by military juntas”, he added.

He said RAMP under his supervision has been ranked best in terms of performance, saying “as a result of Mr Governor’s commitment, the state of Osun did not only emerged as one of the five participating states in the Federation, it has been adjudged the foremost RAMP state in the country.

He said a total of 214.14km rural roads were rehabilitated throughout the nooks and crannies of the state.
