A governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr. Dayo Oyebanji has berated the adoption of direct method by the leadership of the party describing it adoption as fraudulent.

Speaking with newsmen shortly the primary election, Oyebanji said he did not vote and participate in the exercise because of the manner it was conducted.

He explained that the exercise was not thorough and full of manipulations and ambiguity on the organizers.

The governorship aspirant who hails from Ikire in Irewole Local Government of Osun further said that because of inadequate arrangement he also directed his supporters and loyalists to stay away from the exercise.

“I don’t have confidence and trust in the whole exercise because it is fraudulent and characterised of impunity.

It is because of this that I mandated my supporters and loyalists across the state to stay away as it amounted to waste of time and resources.

“All the advantages enumerated by the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole that the method was will eliminate inducement of delegate and reduce corruption is not true.

“It is even worse than the delegates’ system that we are using before. All arrangements were skewed to favour a particular aspirant and a lot of money was committed to the process and more complicated than the old system jettisoned.

He therefore called on the national leadership of the party to revert back to the delegates system saying that party would not be able to sustain this direct method because of the inherent complications and difficulty the method has possessed.
