An Osun state Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Osogbo, the state capital, on Thursday remanded three men in Ilesa prison for unlawful possession of army uniforms and breach of peace.

Osun state Police Command arraigned the trio of the accused on five counts charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful possession, assault and breach of peace.

The accused, Ogundeji Mutiu (31), Akeem Yekini (26), and Isiaka Kehinde (22), were arrested with army uniforms and paraded by the police some weeks ago.

The prosecutor, Mr. Idoko James, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences on July 12, 2018, in Osogbo.

He alleged that the accused conspired and wore army uniforms and terrorized members of the public in the area, an action contrary to the law.

The prosecutor said that their action led to breach of public peace before they were apprehended.

He said the accused persons assaulted DSP Adesoye Abosede, when she demanded for their identities.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 516, 428 (d), 356, 509, and 249 (d) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol.11, Laws of Osun, 2003.

However, the accuse persons pleaded not guilty to the entire five count allegation preferred against them by the police.

The defence counsel, Mr Kasiamobi Nkgoke, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs.

Aishat Oloyade, declined the bail of the accused persons and ordered them to be remanded in Ilesa prison custody.

She directed counsel to the accused to approach the court with formal application and adjourned the case to August 2, for hearing
