Supreme Court Judgement: Police, NSCDC Beef Up Security In Osun

There is heavy deployment of security agents in strategic locations in Osogbo, capital of Osun State ahead of today’s judgment of the Supreme Court on the July 16, 2022 governorship election.

CityMirrorNews correspondent who went round the Osogbo, Osun state capital, on Tuesday morning observed the deployment of special teams of the police to important locations, to forestall possible breakdown of law and order after the apex court’s verdict.

Among the locations with security presence are the popular Ayetoro Junction, Oke-Fia roundabout, Olaiya junction, the PDP secretariat, the APC secretariat, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign offices, Dele Yes Sir, Dada Estate, among others.

As of 10am this morning, residents of the town who plied the junctions praised efforts of the security agencies to guaranteeing the safety of lives and property.

Mr. Jide Agunbiade and Mrs Alake Adebayo who spoke to the medium urged political gladiators to eschew violence whichever way the verdict of the supreme court goes in favour.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) Osun state Command has assured members of the public of adequate security of lives and property before and after the judgement.

In a chat with the CDPRO, Osun State Command, ASCii Adeleke Kehinde said NSCDC is collaborating with other sister agencies in the State to maintain peace, as necessary security measures have been put in place to deal decisively with whosoever that causes breach of peace in the State.

“The NSCDC boss in the State, Commandant Agboola Sunday therefore sends signal to those who may want to forment trouble to steer clear, as the corps is prepared to forestall any security threats that may arise from the outcome of Supreme Court judgement.

“The residents of Osun State are enjoined to go about their lawful daily
activities without being intimidated. ”
