There was Wild Jubilation at the premises of the Osun State High Court in Osogbo in Osogbo on Friday as Justice David Oladimeji  granted bail to the former Acting Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Professor Anthony Elujoba.

Justice Oladimeji granted Elujoba bail on self recognition but ordered not to travel out of Nigeria during the trial period with the EFCC depositing his official passport with the court.

The bursar of the school, Mrs Josephine Akeredolu was also granted bail with the sum of fifty million naira with two sureties in like sum.

The two sureties are to be high ranking members of the academic or non-academic staff of the university.
The sureties are to deposit their information for onward verification.
The development made staff and students of the university erupt in wild jubilation ending days of protests over the case.

In the meantime, Staff and students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife thronged Osogbo, the state capital on Friday morning in solidarity with Professor Elujoba, who acted as the Vice Chancellor of the instiution.

Professor Elujoba and Mrs Akeredolu are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission on allegations of financial impropriety.

The case which is being presided over by Justice David Oladimeji of the Osun State High Court in Ede, was moved to Osogbo for reasons yet unknown.

Findings by CityMirrorNews revealed that the move might be unconnected with the siege laid on the Ede court premises by Students and Staff of the University on Tuesday prompting Justice Oladimeji to reverse an earlier order to keep the two suspects in Ilesa Prisons till the next hearing date but was later changed to letting the suspects return to EFCC custody in Ibadan till Friday.
