The 2022 Commonwealth Games will no longer take place in Durban, South Africa.

Durban was earlier awarded the Games in 2015 as the only city to have made a confirmed bid then.

Currently, an official announcement about the development is awaited.

Last month, the South African sports minister, Fikile Mbalula indicated that city may not be able to host the event because of financial constraints.

Already, Liverpool City in England has expressed interest in staging the event.
