The Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Southwest has taken a swipe at what it called “unfortunate harassment, victimization, persecution, illegal impeachment procedures and outright trampling upon the freedom of Governor Orthom of Benue State.”

The Forum in a statement signed by its Chairman, Hon. Clement Olasoji Adagunodo of Osun State condemned the latest unhealthy political development in Benue State where the All Progressives Congress has decided to behave and act at variance with the rules of law in disregard to the constitution of our country.

The forum expressed disappointment at the way and manner in which the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is being desecrated upon by the APC-led Federal authorities against the laid down rules, procedures and regulations at the slightest provocation in which they always fight dirty whoever that raises a voice against their misrule.

Adagunodo warned President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC cohorts to stop driving the country backwards with their undemocratic, dictatorial and unconstitutional brigandage which has done damage to our country’s image than even the era of military regimes.

He said “the forum of PDP chairmen in the south west condemn the illegality being perpetrated where only eight out of thirty members of the Benue State House Assembly have allowed themselves to be used against the democratic tenet which they all swore to protect.

The South West PDP chairmen forum said it was an embarrassment as it was surprised and wonder why the Federal government and its agent of destablization, the EFCC have to wait till act at a very wrong time before it brings out its spurious allegation of corruption against Governor Orthom because he recently made up his mind to disassociate himself from a political party that has failed to respect human lives.

It will be recalled that the people of Benue State went on rampage recently insisting that their state could no longer allow their governor to belong to a political party that cannot protect them from what looks like a sponsored serialized gale of killings of innocent citizens of the Benue State which remains uncurbed by the security agencies that are behave helpless despite being saddled with the responsibilities of protecting lives and properties of Benue citizens.

The South West PDP chairmen’s forum said that the PDP warned Nigerians against President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-democratic nature before they voted for him in 2015 and therefore implore all Nigerians to be resolute in their decisions to say no to anti-democratic system by voting out APC in all the remaining elections in the country starting with Osun State as the citizens have a choice of rejecting despotic system of governance at the polls.
