Business And Leadership Bootcamp Lecture

Yesterday, I was at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Ede to speak on the “OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF THE BUSINESS LANDSCAPES IN EDE NORTH, EDE SOUTH, EGBEDORE AND EJIGBO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS OF OSUN STATE.” at the BS-E4 Business and Leadership bootcamp.

On the 15th of February, 2012, I was headhunted by a commercial bank for the business turnaround of a loss making branch on the verge of being closed down in the same federal constituency I was asked to discuss yesterday. Within few months,our team recorded three (3) major successes that convinced me that the length and breadth of Osun is a land green with opportunities:

# The branch posted profit for the first time in a very long time in the same month of February,2012 that i resumed.
# I won the bank’s award of Best South West Business Development Manager of the year, 2012 by December.
# Our business volume grew by over 120%.

FEW FACTS FROM MY PRESENTATION

1. “The total land area of Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency is bigger than the entire country of SINGAPORE. While Singapore is about 724 Square Km, this federal constituency covers nearly 973 Square Km.” – ‘Tunde Olatunji

2. “The Population of the two (2) Local Governments in Ede alone (Ede North & Ede South) is more than the entire population of some countries like the Republic of Seychelles. – ‘Tunde Olatunji

3. “Ejigbo Local Government is bigger than the Republic of Malta in terms of land area and it has more people than at least 10 countries and independent territories in the World. – ‘Tunde Olatunji

4. “Egbedore Local Government is more than double the size of the Republic of San Marino both in land area and population size”. ‘Tunde Olatunji

In summary, this state/country is a land of huge opportunities and potentials waiting to be unlocked through our enterprise and productivity.

The greatest asset of any nation today is her productive human capital and not mere population or land size. If a country like Malta with estimated 441,000 people on 320 sq. Km can have a GDP of about $14.85Bn, Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal constituency, with roughly 500,000 people on about 973sq Km and Osun State as a whole is simply a land of opportunity for prosperity.
