Isokan South LCDA Youths Commended For Their Peaceful Conduct During EndSARS Protest In Osun
The entire youths of Isokan South Local Council Development Area, Ikoyi, State of Osun have been commended over their peaceful conduct during and after the nationwide #EndSARS protest against police brutality and extra judicial killings.
The commendation was made on Friday by the Chairman of the Council, Honorable (Prince) Wasiu Oyetunji Oyelami in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen.
Recall the #EndSARS protest which started peacefully across the country later escalated into violence when it was hijacked by suspected hoodlums snd miscreants who used the opportunity to commit various degree of criminalities including looting and destruction of government and private properties.
Hon. Oyelami said the entire youths of the Council area deserved to be applauded for remaining calm and peaceful during the period.
Prince Oyetunji, further stressed that their voices have been heard and assured the youths that government will respond to their demands accordingly for a better Nigeria which will be of benefit for all and sundry.
According to the Isokan South LCDA boss, “I want to encourage the youths to always clear any doubts they may have with the appropriate authority and stop acting on rumours and unverified reports.
“Let us all desist from inciting the people against government with rumours and unconfirmed news”, he appealed.
In the statement, the Chairman, also lauded the Olukoyi of Ikoyi land, Oba Yisau Bamitale Otunla, Kodaolu 1, the Olukoyi in Council, other community leaders, religion leaders, the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) leadership and other stakeholders for their positive contributions towards ensuring the sustainance of peace and security of lives and properties in Isokan South LCDA, Ikoyi.
Prince Oyelami, who urged the youths to continue to remain law abiding and shun all forms of violence that can breach the peace
of the public enjoined the entire citizens of the council area to always be in support of the government of the day headed by Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
