New Interests Group Emerges In Ilie, Holds Inaugural Meeting

Ancient city of Ilie in Osun state today agog as indigenous youths of the town converged in Ilie town hall to lunch a new pressure group named “Ilie Prestigious Elite Group.

Youths of the town who realised the kind of challenges the ancient town is facing decided to come together and form a unique pressure group that will defend and promote image of the town.

Speaking at the event, Alie of Ilie, Oba Abdul-Kareem Oladapo Olagunoye Orisajenjo II applauded the members of Ilie Prestigious Elite Group for summoning courage to gather themselves in the interest of the town. He tasked the group to remain consistent in the struggle to ensure Ilie got what it deserved from the government.

Ilie Administrative council boss, Mrs Felicia Omolaoye who was present at the programme eulogised members of the group, she described the group as new dawn in the history of Ilie town. She advised members of the group to put behind party politics and work together as indigens of Ilie.

In his speech the Convener and pioneer President of the group, Mr Olawale Azeez appreciated the kind of support he received from illustrious sons and daughters of the Ilie which eventually assisted the formation of the group. He said “youth are no longer leaders of tomorrow and Ilie is our own Jerusalem, in lieu of this we must sought development of the town” He thanked Kabiyesi Alie and council boss for their steadfastness.

New officers of the group was announced by a special committee emanated with the task. Mr Olawale Azeez was named as President, Vice President, Olanrewaju Moshood, Secretary General Idris Ogunsola, Assistant Secretary General Olateju Muideen, Financial Secretary Omolaoye Ashola Kunle Ilie, Public Relations officer Bashorun Adekanola Abiodun Desmond Adeyeye, Welfare Officer Wale Salam⁩ and Chief whip Ajayi Abiodun Ologbojo.

The event was graced by traditional chiefs of the town.
