The Senator-elect for Osun East Senatorial District (Ife/ Ijesa land), Chief Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has appealed to all Ijesa sons and daughters to be calm and peaceful.
In a press release by his media assistant, Sam Segun-Progress and made avail able to journalists in Osogbo, Fadahunsi noted that meaningful development can only take place in a peaceful atmosphere.
According to him, Ijesa land and Ife land has been destined for greatness, no evil force can disturb the district from realising this lofty goal.
He therefore charged the youths not to allow themselves to be used as agents of division and retrogression of the destined growth and development of Ijesa land.
“Ijesa land has always enjoyed communal life where love and care for one another above all other considerations existed.
“There is need to reinvent the Ijesa spirit of oneness and brotherhood of the old when peace and harmonious relationship existed amongst all Ijesa sons and daughters.
” We have evolved over the years a virile and trusted leadership capable of making the electricity distribution company see reason for cooperation with Ijesa land in order to achieve success.
“Ijesa culture of orderliness, peace and justice should be sustained by all and sundry.
” We need to thread softly and not allow foreign culture of hooliganism and disorderliness destroy our much cherished glorious past.”
He equally called on Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to be more responsible and responsive to the yearnings of their customers. This is because there is need for symbiotic relationship for cordiality to exist.
It would be recalled that aides of Fadahunsi rescued some Journalists from being attacked by the irate youths protesting blackout in Ijesa land.
Fadahunsi therefore enjoined all to team up with our monarchs and community leaders to find a lasting peace to the festering relationship between Ijesa and the power distributing company saying, peace ends all wars.
