Osun state Coordinator of the Aare Gani Adams- led members of the Oodua People Congress (OPC), Prince Adedeji Aladesawe, has raised his voice against the purported security Summit organized by the Oodua Progressive Care- Initiative,(OPCI) led by Moruf Salam.

The lecture is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 23 July, at the premises of the Osun state Broadcasting Corporation, (OSBC) Ile-Awiye, Oke-Baale, Osun state.

Speaking against the move, Aladesawe said, the summit was a ploy to disturb the peace in the state and disrupt the on-going process initiated by the southwest governors, the Yoruba Obas and other stakeholders.

Describing the initiator of the summit as a confusionist, Aladesawe expressed worry that the intention of the organizers is far below the original template embarked upon by the Yoruba leaders, who had been meeting regularly, and formulating plans on how best to tackle the spate of insecurity across the southwest.

“Moruf Salami is a materialistic person with no foothold anywhere in the southwest. He was dismissed from the organization in 2015 after he was found wanting and he had since been parading himself as leader of the OPC with just 20 members in Ilorin, Kwara state”, So how can a man of such questionable character begins to undermine the efforts of Yoruba leaders and government, especially, at this critical moment in the region? I want to appeal to all sons and daughters of the state of Osun to be wary of such people, whose intention is to truncate the ongoing process”, he said.

He urged the management of the Osun state broadcasting corporation, not to allow the medium to be put to disrepute, asserting that such efforts can soil the image of the medium.

“With the calibre of prominent people and professionals at the helms of affair, OSBC is reputed to be one of the leading broadcast stations in the southwest, therefore, the management should not allow an outsider to soil the name by launching the hidden agenda of OPCI on the people of the state.”
