Aare Gani Adams Visits Olukoyi, Calls For Preservation Of Yoruba Culture

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams has called on the entire people of Yoruba race not to abandoned their culture and tradition in order to move forward.

The Aare Adams made this known on Thursday at the Olukoyi’s palace, Ikoyi town, in Isokan South Local Council Development Area of Osun State during his official visit to the Monarch.

The Yoruba Leader who commended the traditional, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi land, Oba Yisau Bantale Otunla, Kodaolu 1 for promoting the traditions of the ancient town said other traditional rulers should emulate the Olukoyi.

According to him, “The founder of Ikoyi town was a great warrior who never be defeated in any wars in the past”

Urging the Olukoyi to involves all other Ikoyi towns to always join them whenever they are celebrating the annual festival as they belong to the same father.

Aare Adams however assured the Olukoyi of his readiness to partner with him in celebrating the annual Ikoyi-Osun festival which holds in October each year.

While speaking, the Olukoyi who was highly elated, thanked the Aare and his entourage for the visit while promising not to relent in promoting cultural and traditional activities of his domain.

Oba Otunla, described the annual Osun-Ikoyi festival as a celebration to remember their fore fathers who fought for the emergence of the ancient Ikoyi Community.

The Olukoyi however thanked Iba Adams for adopting the annual Osun-Ikoyi festival.
